Friday, November 10th, 1978: Columbia Bombers Break Ground on New Ballpark
The Columbia Bombers and GM Alan Kahaly were thrilled to break ground on their new home, The Capital City Stadium.

Asked whether they'll miss the monsterous 40 foot wall that stretched from the 435 yard center field wall to the right foul line, Left-handed right fielder Kevin Pless just laughed and shook his head.

The Bombers are looking forward to settling in to their new park, which should be complete by the start of the 1979 season.

GM Kahaly is hopeful that the Bombers can make a fresh start in their new home and provide a challenge to the perennial division leader Southbeach Sunburn.
