We've gone 5 more days and we have a few more signings.

I picked for St. Louis in the draft, and now Superior is up. Gnorst did send me a draft list, but I'd rather him make the pick just in case he changes his mind. Chessie will be up after that.

If you submit a draft list and are OK with me using that for the first round, please let me know. I just don't want a situation where your outlook changes and the next player in the draft list doesn't look as good anymore.

Once we hit the second round I won't hesitate to use the lists, but for now, let me know if I can use yours and things will start to move more quickly.

Please get draft lists in so that I can at least work from those if you can't pick on the board.

I'll sim again on Friday.

And here's the news:

Saturday, February 16th, 1980: Aging SP Agrees to Pact with Bombers
Daryl Kirschner took the Bombers up on their lucrative $4,440,000 deal today, ending speculation on which baseball metropolis he would call home next year.

But the signing came at too high a price, say longtime fans who think the club is too focused on players whose prime years have passed them by.

Lifetime Kirschner has a 196-116 won-lost record with a 2.95 ERA.

Tuesday, February 19th, 1980: $2,600,000 Lands MR Mosteller for Lightning
Latrobe fans were pleased with the signing of William Mosteller today. The 33-year-old inked a 2-year, $2,600,000 deal with the Lightning.

Though his numbers don't jump out at you, Mosteller does fill a void for Latrobe, according to several respected analysts.

Taking the hill 347 times in his career, Mosteller has compiled an ERA of 4.16 with 28 saves. He has tossed 385.1 innings with 337 strikeouts and 183 free passes. Opponents have hit .290 against him. His won-lost record stands at 23-17.

Tuesday, February 19th, 1980: Latrobe Inks Star SP to $32,600,000 Deal
Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today's deal that brought 33-year-old starting pitcher Philip Lewis to Latrobe.

Lewis is considered one of the league's A-list players, and certainly will enhance any chances the Lightning have to win a playoff spot this year.

In his career Lewis has posted a record of 74-61 and compiled a 3.85 ERA.

Tuesday, February 19th, 1980: Veteran Banton Signs 2-Year Deal
The euphoria surrounding a big name deal can sometimes overshadow the deal itself. Occasionally a team will mortgage its future to make a big splash, though no one in Mexico City was worried about that today as the club finalized terms with Ray Banton.

Banton will earn $2,990,000 per year over 2 years.

During his career Banton has chalked up 2027 hits and a .301 average with 223 home runs and 1135 RBIs.
